One Odd partnership, plus one Odd case, equals one Good movie

Now theres an unexpected partnership. You probably would have never thought you would never see Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum together working side by side. The two actors easily establish a great chemistry and play of each other and make it enjoyable for the viewers to watch. It is also nice to see Channing Tatum branch out and show some of his acting chops. If you think about both Tatum and Hill are stepping out of their genres. We usually see Tatum in action and romance movies, while Hill appears in comedys. I guess in a way its the best of both world since 21 Jump Street is an action comedy.

Right off the bat, 21 Jump Street shows it own self parody of basic cop movies and the original show itself. Also in the first five minutes it shows that this movie is not for the light hearted (fyi for those of you who are, who watch Mirror Mirror or something). So the story goes a little something like this, after screwing up an arrest, Schmit and Jenko are sent to 21 Jump Street. So at 21 Jump Street, Jenko and Schmit are sent back to high school undercover looking for a new drug. How they portrayed the drug with the 4 stages was quite amusing. Off my hand I can't remember all of them, but wheres the fun in telling you.

Now everyone who has been in high school knows that groups form early on and no matter what generation there is always the cool kids and the nerds. 21 Jump Street does a nice job of this by setting the two characters into different groups; the bullied and the bully. And just for irony switch the two around by making the bully, cool kid, Jenko the outcast and Schmit, the nerd, a popular kid. To make it even better, they accidentally switch identities and take courses the have no idea what their doing. Although you can imagine that Schmit will get caught up in his new found popularity.

So throw in a drug haste, a ridicules car chase where chicken explode, guest star appearances, and you have a great movie. 21 Jump Street proves that movies released during the movie hiatus can be good. 21 Jump Street is also a great combination of humor and action. Although, it also shows how these days being vulgar and making sexual jokes is considered funny. Not to mention on play on how boys like to make jokes about their p****es all the time. This movie is geared more towards the young adult males (and females). 21 Jump Street is one of the good movies out there, and it should not be ignored just because of its content.
