Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol Review

Usually when series like Mission Impossible are dragged out, they turn out into very bad sequels and are a disaster for everyone. But once and a while there is series that can handle the heat like Mission Impossible. By all means, Mission Impossible is very possible, and while others many criticize the storyline, I must say its holds it own in this film. Of course for those who want the story to be like the Prestige and Inception, leave your brain at home. Seriously, just do it and enjoy the movie. No need to over think an action movie.

So without giving any heavy plot lines away, Ethan and his team are forced to go into hiding when a mission goes wrong and Ghost Protocol is initiated. Determined, Ethan and team go after the stolen Russian nuclear missile codes and the ones who stole it. And what would Mission Impossible be without doing the impossible? Although I have to mention, I absolutely loved the opening titles due to the editing being so fantastic. I mean they could have had a really long fuse going down a tunnel or a really long fuse with a montage of clips from the movie to peak the viewer's interest. Mine sure was.

Each character in the movie has his or her own storyline that helps the story quite nicely. Theres Benji (Simon Pegg) who is very new to the field and comic relief in situations. Jane (Paula Patton) is out for revenge and could put the mission at risk. Brandt (Jeremy Renner) is not in his usual element and has some secrets which is quite interesting. In this movie, it gets the audience to know each of the characters and watch how they grow. There is also a pull from the previous movie, so watch that if you haven't seen it.

On the topic of humor, I did not expect the movie to make you laugh during the most serious times. I must say that Ethan gets his face hit a lot in this movie. Special mention to Tom Cruise who played the humor quite well. Combined with Renner and Pegg, the humor is gold. Another element I liked was the fact that it showed that the agents aren't superhuman and can get hurt as well. In addition to making mistakes.

Other than top secret government buildings always being broken into, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is good movie to watch. Also keep an eye out for familiar faces.
